Why American Travelers Choose Our Retreat

If you've searched for the best wellness retreat in India, you've probably noticed two very different options, bare-bones ashrams with shared rooms and cold showers or five-star resorts that barely mention yoga at all. We sit right in the sweet spot between the two.

Authenticity

Rishikesh isn't just a beautiful destination. It's the birthplace of Yoga and Ayurveda, where every practice is rooted in traditions that began in this very valley.

Comfort

Private rooms, air conditioning, attached bathrooms and Ganga views offer the comfort American travelers expect, without losing the authentic retreat experience.

Value

Wellness retreats in India range from $500 to $3,200. Our transparent USD pricing delivers premium value without five-star resort prices.

WHY RISHIKESH?

  • Rishikesh sits quietly at the foot of the Himalayas and precisely at the point where the river Ganga leaves the mountains and takes up its course across the country.
  • For thousands of years, Rishikesh has been a home to yoga, meditation and spiritual studies, way before wellness tourism even became an industry. This is not a place which introduced yoga to bring in tourists but it was the birthplace of yoga.
  • The town has a calm, unhurried pace to it. Bell ringing in the temples in the morning, the river flowing along ghats where people have meditated for generations and the mountains creating a slowing effect on everything around.
  • It is just the place where taking a break from your routine feels completely natural and not forced.

Planning Your Trip from the USA

Everything you need before arriving in Rishikesh, from flights and visas to packing tips, all organized in one easy travel guide.

Getting Here
Getting Here

How to Get Here

You'll fly into Delhi first. That's India's main international gateway and from there you'll catch a connecting flight to Dehradun, the airport closest to Rishikesh.

Once you land in Dehradun, it's about a 45-minute drive to the retreat and we'll have someone waiting to pick you up.

Total travel time from most US cities is around 18–24 hours including layovers.

Visa

If you're a US citizen, you'll need a visa to enter India. Most people go with the e-Visa since it's the simplest route — you apply online through the official government portal before you fly out. One thing worth remembering: visa rules do shift from time to time so it's worth double-checking the current requirements and fees on the official site a few weeks before you travel just to be safe.

✔ Always verify current visa requirements before travelling.

Best Time to Visit

October through March is really the sweet spot. The weather cools down, mornings are crisp and it's ideal for yoga, walking around the city or just sitting by the river. There's also a nice side benefit — this window lines up with the coldest months back in the US so you're trading snow for sunshine.

☀ Escape the US winter and enjoy sunshine.

Time Zone & Jet Lag

India runs about 9.5 to 13.5 hours ahead of the US, depending on which time zone you're coming from. It sounds like a big jump and it is but a few small habits make it manageable — get outside in the sunlight as soon as you can after landing, drink more water than you think you need on the flight and try not to nap for hours the first day even if you're tempted. Most people find they have adjusted within two or three days.

Our Wellness Retreat Experience

Ayurvedic Therapies & Panchakarma

Ayurveda is one of the oldest healing systems in the world and Panchakarma is its signature detox process — a series of treatments designed to cleanse the body and restore balance. We've also put together a full breakdown on our dedicated Ayurveda Packages page, where you can see exactly what each therapy involves.

Daily Yoga & Meditation

Every guest is welcome to join daily yoga and meditation sessions at no extra cost. These sessions are designed to help you relax, quiet your mind and reconnect with yourself — no prior experience needed and no pressure to keep up with anyone else's pace.

Ganga Aarti Experience

Every evening, our guests can take part in a peaceful, thoughtfully arranged Ganga Aarti experience. This experience is a quiet way to end the day while listening to the sounds of chanting in harmony with the river.

Sattvic Cuisine

Meals are prepared with organic local ingredients in accordance with the sattvic diet which is used traditionally for yoga and Ayurveda. Expect balanced, nourishing meals made from scratch — food that's meant to support your wellness journey, not just fill you up.

Holistic Wellness

Before any treatment begins, every guest sits down for a one-on-one consultation with our Ayurvedic practitioner.

This isn't a formality. It's how we build a plan that actually fits you.

The practitioner reviews your health history, listens to your goals and puts together a personalized treatment approach instead of following a generic template.

Every wellness journey begins with understanding you first, creating a treatment plan designed specifically for your body, lifestyle and goals.
