Everything you need before arriving in Rishikesh, from flights and visas to packing tips, all organized in one easy travel guide.
You'll fly into Delhi first. That's India's main international gateway and from there you'll catch a connecting flight to Dehradun, the airport closest to Rishikesh.
Once you land in Dehradun, it's about a 45-minute drive to the retreat and we'll have someone waiting to pick you up.
Total travel time from most US cities is around 18–24 hours including layovers.
If you're a US citizen, you'll need a visa to enter India. Most people go with the e-Visa since it's the simplest route — you apply online through the official government portal before you fly out. One thing worth remembering: visa rules do shift from time to time so it's worth double-checking the current requirements and fees on the official site a few weeks before you travel just to be safe.
October through March is really the sweet spot. The weather cools down, mornings are crisp and it's ideal for yoga, walking around the city or just sitting by the river. There's also a nice side benefit — this window lines up with the coldest months back in the US so you're trading snow for sunshine.
India runs about 9.5 to 13.5 hours ahead of the US, depending on which time zone you're coming from. It sounds like a big jump and it is but a few small habits make it manageable — get outside in the sunlight as soon as you can after landing, drink more water than you think you need on the flight and try not to nap for hours the first day even if you're tempted. Most people find they have adjusted within two or three days.
Before any treatment begins, every guest sits down for a one-on-one consultation with our Ayurvedic practitioner.
This isn't a formality. It's how we build a plan that actually fits you.
The practitioner reviews your health history, listens to your goals and puts together a personalized treatment approach instead of following a generic template.
Every wellness journey begins with understanding you first, creating a treatment plan designed specifically for your body, lifestyle and goals.
