Everything you need before arriving in Rishikesh, from flights and visas to packing tips, all organized in one easy travel guide.
You'll fly into Delhi first. That's India's main international gateway and from there you'll catch a connecting flight to Dehradun, the airport closest to Rishikesh.
Once you land in Dehradun, it's about a 45-minute drive to the retreat and we'll have someone waiting to pick you up.
Total travel time from most US cities is around 18–24 hours including layovers.
If you're a US citizen, you'll need a visa to enter India. Most people go with the e-Visa since it's the simplest route — you apply online through the official government portal before you fly out. One thing worth remembering: visa rules do shift from time to time so it's worth double-checking the current requirements and fees on the official site a few weeks before you travel just to be safe.
October through March is really the sweet spot. The weather cools down, mornings are crisp and it's ideal for yoga, walking around the city or just sitting by the river. There's also a nice side benefit — this window lines up with the coldest months back in the US so you're trading snow for sunshine.
India runs about 9.5 to 13.5 hours ahead of the US, depending on which time zone you're coming from. It sounds like a big jump and it is but a few small habits make it manageable — get outside in the sunlight as soon as you can after landing, drink more water than you think you need on the flight and try not to nap for hours the first day even if you're tempted. Most people find they have adjusted within two or three days.
Before any treatment begins, every guest sits down for a one-on-one consultation with our Ayurvedic practitioner.
This isn't a formality. It's how we build a plan that actually fits you.
The practitioner reviews your health history, listens to your goals and puts together a personalized treatment approach instead of following a generic template.
Every wellness journey begins with understanding you first, creating a treatment plan designed specifically for your body, lifestyle and goals.
The Ayurvedic consultation felt genuinely personal. The practitioner took time to understand my routine, eating habits and reasons for visiting before recommending any therapies. I appreciated that the experience did not feel like a standard spa package. It gave me a better understanding of what my body actually needed.
I booked the seven-day retreat because I needed a proper break from work and constant screen time. The combination of yoga, Ayurvedic treatments and simple vegetarian meals helped me slow down naturally. I returned home feeling rested and with a few healthy habits that were realistic enough to continue.
My husband and I wanted something more meaningful than a regular vacation. We enjoyed beginning the day with yoga, eating freshly prepared meals and experiencing the evening Ganga Aarti together. The retreat gave us time to slow down, reconnect and experience a quieter side of Rishikesh.
Waking up to the view and sound of the Ganga was something I will always remember. The mornings felt peaceful, especially before the yoga session began. My room was clean and comfortable, and the entire property had a calm atmosphere that made it easy to disconnect from my usual routine.
I stayed for ten days and was glad I chose the longer programme. It gave me enough time to settle in and truly benefit from the yoga, meditation and Ayurvedic therapies. By the end, I felt calmer, slept better and had more energy during the day.
